So Unique They're Patented

David Rowland has discovered a way to manufacture vitamin/mineral tablets that enhances their bio-energetic qualities. For this innovation, he was awarded U.S. Patent No. 5,405,613 and Canadian Patent No. 2,057,463 – the first patents in history to apply to a complete line of vitamin-mineral products.

Documented tests and Kirlian photographs show that tablets made by the unique VITALIZED™ method have a significantly higher vibratory rate ("vital force") than the identical formulas made by conventional methods. This higher energetic frequency helps to normalize the vibrations of bodily cells, enabling them to make more efficient use of nutrients.

The Vitalized Difference

The photos below of tablets were taken with a highly sensitive Kirlian camera. This is an instrument that captures visually the electromagnetic field of energy that surrounds living beings and physical objects. The camera's lighting, aperture, timing and frequency settings were kept constant for the pair of photos.

    • 2 tests to confirm the tablets are free from yeasts and molds.
    • 1 test to confirm that the tablets dissolve readily in gastric fluid.

The Formula is Everything

David Rowland's VITAMOST® food-based medicines are so effective primarily because they are formulated for totality. Each formula is like a symphony orchestra, with certain instruments playing lead parts and others supporting roles. And every instrument influences the result.

Nutrients work interactively with each other. Every factor needed by the body (for a particular purpose) has to be present in optimal amounts and must also have its supporting copartners present in optimal amounts. If even one nutrient is lacking, the formula becomes like the proverbial chain that is only as strong as its weakest link.

The body has its own wisdom. It heals itself, if given the raw materials it needs. Each of David's formulas provides a buffet of all of the factors the body needs to do a particular job. And if everything it could possibly use is provided, the body selectively chooses what it needs and in proportion to its need. Just as you eat more when you're hungry and less when you're not, the body consumes large portions of what it lacks and little or none of what it doesn't need.

Each of is unique biochemically. We are as different on the inside as we are on the outside. Our bodies require the same nutrients, but in different proportions. Every VITAMOST® formula is so complete (for its purpose) that people with widely differing needs benefit from it. Someone may have deficiencies in, say, four nutrients and also require another seven to assist in utilizing those four. Others will need a quite different combination of nutrients and co-partners. If all are present in optimal amounts, each person will get what their unique body requires.

David's formulas also emphasize essential or primary nutrients – the ones that we have to get from our food supply because the body cannot produce them internally. If the body gets enough of these basics, then it can produce all of the secondary or intermediate factors it needs –according to its own wisdom and priorities. For example, if the body gets enough vitamin C, it can make all of the coenzyme Q-10 it needs. Or if the body gets enough linoleic acid (e.g., from flaxseed oil) and enough vitamins and minerals, it can make all the gamma-linolenic acid it needs without having to take supplements of evening primrose oil.

Form of delivery also makes a difference to effectiveness. Tablets are used for complex formulations, in order to prevent interaction of ingredients (e.g., choline reacting with vitamin C to produce choline ascorbate). Capsules are used for ingredients that don't interact. Liquids are used for conditions in which digestion may be compromised (e.g., cancer) and only in those formulas in which there is also no interaction of ingredients. Timed-release forms are never used because of their inefficiency; many people's digestion isn't strong enough to break down the multiple layers of wax on the ingredients; and many timed-release products end up in the toilet.

Effective Ingredients

Every ingredient in VITAMOST° formulations is carefully selected for both its effectiveness for its intended purpose and its efficiency at being utilized. Every ingredient is comprised of natural molecules that are bio-compatible with the human body. Nothing artificial is ever used.

Vitamins

A: VITAMOST® uses only natural vitamin A (palmitate). This palmitate molecule is found in both fish oils and in some plant sources. VITAMOST® uses the fish oil derived vitamin A in its softgel capsules and the plant derived vitamin A in its tablets. The artificial version of this vitamin has a high potential for toxicity, whereas the natural form is quite safe by comparison. In order to produce the desired results, some VITAMOST® formulas require taking relatively high amounts of vitamin A; however, these levels are eminently safe. There are no documented cases of harm in adults taking up to 100,000 IU of natural vitamin A daily
– a level far higher than one would get by taking VITAMOSt® formulas as directed. (By comparison, a single serving of beef liver provides 90,000 IU of natural vitamin A.)

B: All of the B-vitamins used are natural, pure microcrystalline vitamins ultimately derived from plant sources and standardized to ensure potency.

C: The vitamin C (ascorbate) that VITAMOST® uses is made from plant sources and is bioidentical to the ascorbate molecule produced in the livers of mammals. It is made in exactly the same way that animals do, by exposing glucose to the same enzyme, 1-gulonolactone oxidase. In its formula for cancer VITAMOST® uses buffered vitamin C – because it is required in very high amounts and because many people with cancer have sensitive digestion. Buffered C isn't needed in its other formulas. The actual acidity of ascorbic acid is quite mild
– negligible when used in combination with multiple other ingredients.

D: VITAMOST® uses only natural, fat-soluble vitamin D (D-3) because of its safety. The artificial version of this vitamin (D-2) has a far greater potential for toxicity – especially when given in water-dispersible forms that bypass the liver's ability to monitor its uptake.

E: VITAMOST® uses only natural vitamin E – d-alpha tocopherol (fat-soluble) and d-alpha tocopheryl succinate (water-dispersible). The artificial forms of vitamin E (dl-alpha), while harmless, are much less efficiently used by the body.

Minerals

VITAMOST® uses whichever form of a mineral is most efficiently utilized for its intended purpose in any given formula. Our natural food supply provides both organic and inorganic minerals; and the body knows how to utilize them, whichever form they come in.

Chelated Minerals are used for micro-minerals (e.g., chromium, selenium, vanadium) because this is the most efficient delivery system for minerals required in tiny amounts. Chelated minerals typically provide only about 5% of the mineral in question; the other 95% being taken up by the amino acids that do the chelating. Using a powder that has 20 times the volume of the isolated mineral ensures that it will be blended more uniformly with other ingredients that are present in much larger amounts.

Organic Mineral compounds are used for iron, manganese, and zinc. [The term, "organic" is used here in its biochemical sense, meaning simply a compound that contains carbon – the element common to all living things.] Organic mineral molecules are bonded together by co-valence and have a neutral electromagnetic charge that enables them to pass readily through the intestinal wall (which has a slight negative charge). Inorganic forms of iron, for example, tend to stick to the intestinal wall, causing poor absorption and constipation. Organic ferrous fumarate does not do this.

Inorganic Minerals are used for the electrolyte minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium) and for silicon and iodine. ["Inorganic" simply means "without carbon".] Inorganic minerals are bonded by ionic valence and separate into positive and negative ions when broken down by hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Then, amino acids present in the stomach at the same time (from the digestion of food) surround these mineral ions, thus neutralizing their electromagnetic charge and enabling them to be transported through the intestinal wall. The body does its own chelating of minerals. This is how the body absorbs minerals from foods.

Mineral Absorption
If mineral supplements are taken with meals, there is no difference in their rate of absorption, regardless of the form that those minerals happen to be in. Always take mineral supplements with meals in order to enable the body to do its own chelating. The minerals need to be present with food for this to happen in the stomach. If digestion is weak, then overcome this weakness by taking supplementary digestive enzymes that will improve the body's ability to utilize both food and supplements. This approach is a far more effective for overall health than bypassing digestive weakness by taking pre-chelated minerals that may be better absorbed on an empty stomach – but offer no particular advantage compared to minerals taken with food.

In one study, fasting subjects were given 500 mg. of calcium from each of five calcium compounds and milk. No significant differences in absorption were found among the various sources of calcium. The mean net calcium absorption in each case was 39% from calcium carbonate 32% from calcium acetate, 32% from calcium lactate, 31% from milk, 30% from calcium citrate, and 27% from calcium gluconate. Calcium from calcium carbonate is well absorbed if taken with a meal – even if stomach acid is otherwise too low. Calcium carbonate provides the highest amount of calcium (40%) of all supplementary sources (e.g., calcium citrate provides 24% and calcium gluconate 9%). Similarly, magnesium oxide provides the highest amount of magnesium (60%) and potassium chloride has the highest amount of potassium (52%).

Glandular Concentrates

VITAMOST® uses glandular concentrates as facilitating ingredients in specific formulas, wherever these tissue derivatives can contribute nutritional support above and beyond that provided by vitamins, minerals and/or amino acids. Glandular concentrates from animals provide specific intrinsic cellular factors as nutrients for the same organs in humans. Like cells nourish like cells. The most likely explanation for how this happens is that nucleoproteins from the animal organ are broken down into dipeptides and tripeptides in the digestive system, pass through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream, and by means of cellular memory gravitate to the same protein structures from whence they came.

Glandular concentrates are completely safe. They are not hormones; they do not contain hormones; they do not act as hormones; and they do not depress the body's production of hormones. They merely provide cellular-specific raw materials to help glands repair themselves and function better. [Further reading: Endocrine Harmony.]

Glandular concentrates are made by removing moisture and fat from the organs and glands of animals, usually cattle or sheep. The remaining dry, hormone-free tissue is then pressed into tablets. The process that does the best job of preserving all naturally occurring factors in the glands is "lyophilization". Bovine glands are harvested only from countries which are free of BSE (mad cow's disease).

The most effective way to use glandulars is to support all organs and systems at the same time. All work together interdependently and all need to be supported – a chain is only as strong at its weakest link, so to speak. The body has its own daily priorities as to which glandular tissues it rebuilds. If all are provided together, then the body can select what it needs at any given time and any glandular tissue not used on that particular day is simply processed as another source of protein.

Lyophilization by sublimation is the process by which VITAMOST® glandular concentrates are processed. It is a freeze-drying process which makes it possible to facilitate the processing of raw tissue materials at temperatures much below body temperature. The main purpose of using raw tissue concentrates is because of their rich nutrient properties. Lyophilization is a concentrating process, not an extraction method. In extraction, some of the desirable nutritional factors would be lost.

During the first (solute) phase of lyophilization, the raw tissue product is concentrated but never reaches the freezing point. However, the second (solvent) phase remains below freezing during the entire process. As a result of low temperature, there is less molecular movement and therefore, minimal nutritional losses.

The excess fat surrounding the organ and connective tissue is removed surgically. The intrinsic fat of the normal healthy tissue is retained, however – because it contains fat soluble vitamins and sterols, which act as precursors to certain hormones.

No solvents of any kind are used during the lyophilization process. Also, lyophilized products are as moisture-free as modern technology permits. Both of these steps are necessary to enable the finished product to remain stable and active for an extended period of time.

Lyophilized products are hypo-allergenic. They contain no yeast, no wheat, no soy, no corn, no sugar, and no dairy products. They also contain no sugar, no starch, no salt, and no solvent residue.
