Eczema (atopic dermatitis) is an intensely itchy, inflammatory skin disease characterized by scales, crusts, scabs, redness, blisters or pustules, alone or in combination. It is commonly found on the face, wrists, and insides of the elbows and knees. Most common cause of eczema is hidden food sensitivities. Tracking down and eliminating the offending foods usually brings relief. Almost any food could be a suspect, however the most common culprits are milk products, eggs, tomatoes, food preservatives and food colourings. [Further reading: One's Food is Another's Poison.]
Supplementation with a high potency multi vitamin/mineral formula that includes at least 1,000 mg of vitamin C, 400 IU of vitamin E and 30 mg. of zinc is important (e.g, PLUS™). Flaxseed Oil is also beneficial. Liver, cleansing with LVR™ may also help. [Occasionally eczema may be related to fecal pathogens, in which case Grapefruit Seed extract may be of benefit.]
